Joyce LaVonne (Weldin) Wagaman, 79 of Sundance, WY passed away on Saturday, February 21, 20415 at her home.
Joyce was born on October 18, 1935 to Burnette "Babe" and Erma (Hansen) Weldin in Academy, SD. She attended school in Platte, SD. On March 10, 1954 she married Dean Hoffer at Fort Benning, GA. To this union four children were born Pamila, Darla, Brenda and Darwin. Dean passed away on February 22, 1963 in an automobile accident.
On April 14, 1969 Joyce married the love of her life, Rich Wagaman. Rich and Joyce worked on road construction for several years before settling in Sundance with their family. Joyce and her sister-in-law, Rose Mary purchased the Turf Bar in 1974 where they spent many happy years.
Joyce was very crafty and enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, going to Deadwood and traveling with Rich. She loved her family and friends very much. Joyce requested that her children send a special thank you to her dear friend Darlene Offdenkamp for being her best friend and always being there for her.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Dean Hoffer and Rich Wagaman; daughter, Darla Mitts and granddaughter, Amanda Hoffer. She is survived by her children, Pam (Gordon) Henke, Wright, WY, Brenda (Allen) DePoy, Cawker City, KS and Darwin (Della) Hoffer, Sundance; grandchildren, Tobey (Joel) Morgan, Misty Durfee, Crystal Mitts, Shane Henke, Shannon Stroede, Dustin DePoy, Sammie Jo Henke; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Frankie Weldin; twin sister, JoAnn Melchert; sister, Shirley (Arnie) Vanderheiden; sister-in-law, Donna Wucetich; son-in-law Butch Mitts; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Visitation will be from 4pm-6pm, Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Fidler-Roberts & Isburg Funeral Chapel in Sundance. Funeral services will be at 1:30 PM, Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Sundance burial will follow at Green Mountain Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Treasured Memories Hospice.
