Joyce Anderson, 80 of Spearfish, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at the David M. Dorsett Healthcare Center.

Joyce Louise (Bradford) Anderson was born Feb. 17, 1931, in Sheridan, WY to Elmer R and Louise (Leathers) Bradford, the second of four children. She graduated from Laurel High School, Laurel, MT in 1949. After graduation she attended the University of Montana in Missoula. During the summers she worked in Billings at an insurance company where she met and married Frances D. Anderson in 1951. They finally settled in Sioux Falls, SD to raise their family of four, Jeffery, Valerie, Clark and Mark. Joyce worked for years as a legal secretary while raising their family. She was a cook extraordinaire and loved to sew and quilt in her spare time. She loved a good joke or to play a prank and Joyce could and did out-fish the best of them.

Survivors include her husband, "Andy" of Spearfish, her children; Jeffery, Salem, SD, Valerie (David) Peters, Spearfish and Clark, Montana, her grandchildren; Summer (Keith) VanBroeke, Whitefish, MT, Amber (Josh) Carpenter, Kalispell, MT, Clint (Jill) Peters, Columbia Falls, MT, Aaron Anderson of OR, and great grandchildren; Owen, Marlo, and Lola Carpenter, and Kale and Winslow Peters, her sister-in-law; Marlene Bradford, Budda, TX, her sisters; Vicky Allen, Fairfield Bay, AR, and Sandra (David) Freeman Fort Collins, CO, as well as many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Mark, and her brother Donald Bradford.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 10:00 A.M., at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel, Spearfish, SD with burial services in Viborg, SD at a later date.
