John Tucker, 81 died Sunday, January 16, 2011 at his home in Spearfish. John was born March 25, 1929 at Selby, SD to Leonard and Cora (Foer) Tucker. He attended school in Mobridge before moving to the Northern Black Hills in 1954. Upon moving to the Black Hills he began working for Homestake Mining Company, retiring in 1983 as a mining supervisor. John enjoyed fishing, camping and the outdoors in general.

He is survived by his wife Betty of Spearfish, daughters Debbie Howe, Phoenix, AZ, Laura Benham, Phoenix, AZ, and son Steve (Sue) Tucker of Newell, SD. Four sisters Helen (Quintin) Sulzle, Hill City, SD, Joan Musselman, Omaha, NE, Zella (Gary) Baltz, Paradise, MT, Dixie (Jose) Martinez, Marysville, CA. Along with 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Joan, 3 brothers and 1 brother-in-law.

Funeral Services for John will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Spearfish, with Pastor Kent Stillson officiating. Burial will be at Black Hills National Cemetery at a later date.
