Obituary

John Arlan Meade, 70 of Beulah, Wyoming passed away peacefully with family at his bedside September 17, 2011.

John was born July 12, 1941 in Jamestown, ND. He was a dedicated loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and worker. John worked for Homestake Mine for 33 years. During that time John also had a love for auctioneering and especially enjoyed doing benefit auctions. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Knights of Columbus, Homestake Veterans Association, International Society of Explosive Engineers and a founding member and board member of the Homestake Mining Museum. Following retirement from Homestake, he contracted and built homes throughout the Northern Hills area with his wife Teri. Together they built a beautiful home in Beulah, where they truly enjoyed every moment together and with family and friends!

He was preceded in death by his parents; Michael "Bud" Meade and Bertha Meade, daughter, Baby Mary, first wife, Delores Meade and sister-in-law, Jan Meade.

John is survived by his wife, Teri Meade, four daughters; Lorie Meade of Spearfish, SD, Vickie (Rodney) Meade-Travis of Omaha, NE, Lisa (Bob) Bartlett of Beaumont, CA and Amy Leisure of Fort Collins, CO, three brothers; Lawrence (Joan) Meade of Sioux Falls, SD, Mike (Amy) Meade of Lead, SD and Raymond Meade of Brigham, UT, six grandchildren; Tabitha (Joe) DeCelle of Gillette, WY, Tiffany (Fabian) Young of Maui, HI, Britney (Joe) Routh of Spearfish, Zachariah Meade of Sioux Falls, Isaac Meade of Spearfish and Mariah Bartlett of Beaumont, CA and three great-grandchildren; Makai and Zayden DeCelle of Gillette and Willow Routh of Spearfish.

Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M., Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at the Lead-Deadwood Memorial Chapel in Lead.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lead. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery near Lead.
