It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of my beloved father, Jody Lane Taylor, who left us on December 18th, 2024, at the age of 63.

Jody was born in Columbia, South Carolina, to Sammie and Lottie Taylor on February 6, 1961. Jody traveled the United States after high school. He eventually met and married his wife, Jennifer Fogg. They settled in Fort Thompson, SD, on the Crow Creek Reservation where they raised two boys, Josh and Sam. Jody earned his Associates of Arts Degree through Sinte Gleska University in 1998. Jody held a variety of jobs throughout his life, but he was most proud of being employed with the Army Corp of Engineers.

Jody enjoyed spending time outdoors. He loved to fish for walleye on the Missouri River, grill, and plant a garden every year. In his spare time, Jody could always be found working on vehicles or building something until he had a stroke in 2012. Jody's wife, Jennifer, was his primary caregiver until her death in 2021, when he was moved into assisted living. Jody eventually settled in Spearfish, SD, at the Dorsett Health Care Center until his death in 2024.

Jody was a man of immense humor and wisdom, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones. His skills as a Jack of All Trades and his larger-than-life personality will forever be remembered. Jody is survived by his sisters, Tina and Jeanette; sons, Josh and Sam; daughter, Brandi; granddaughter, Taylor; grandson, Jameson; and stepdaughter, Sherry. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Sammie and Lottie; brother, George; and wife, Jennifer.

Cremation arrangements were under the care of Isburg Crematory of Spearfish.
