Obituary
Jessie Marie Nelson, 80 of Spearfish died Thursday, January 07, 2016 at the David M. Dorsett Healthcare Center.
At Jessie's request cremation has taken place and her ashes will be placed with her parents at Bell Park Cemetery near Rochford at a later date.
Jessie was born October 26, 1935 to Lyle and Beatrice (Walker) Barker at Rochford, South Dakota. She attended and graduated from Lead High School and Black Hills State Teachers College. She taught school at Slate Prairie School near Deerfield Lake and the Rochford School.
Survivors include her daughter, Rose Hoard, siblings; Lyle (Rebecca) Barker, Barbara Griffin, Beverly Howey and Sharon (Gary) Frohme and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant daughters and three sisters, Patsy Potratz, Emily Harvey and Peggy Mason.
