Obituary

Jerry Witt passed away in his sleep at age 65 at his home in Grandview MO.

Jerry was born in Deadwood, South Dakota, and attended Pluma Grade school and one year at Deadwood High School before moving to Watertown South Dakota in 1967. After graduating from Watertown High School, he joined the Army and served in Germany before being honorably discharged. When he completed his military service he moved to the Kansas City area where he spent the rest of his life in the construction field.

A quiet, intelligent man he kept to himself with the exception of a few close co-workers; but was always willing to do things for other people. Jerry was his own biggest critic and thought he did not live up to expectations but friends and family always saw the best part of him. His most famous statement was "don't worry, every family has to have an Uncle Jerry". He enjoyed golf, Kansas City baseball and football and got to enjoy a few years of retirement before his death.
He is survived by one sister, Donna Parks, Overland Park Kansas, two brothers, Jim- Spearfish South Dakota, and Gary- Lead South Dakota, seven nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Wendell (Red) and mother Jean.

A Memorial Service will be 10:00am on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish, SD. Inurnment with full Military Honors will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
