Jerold Dean Russell, 79, passed away on January 6, 2015 at his daughter's home in Newcastle, Wyoming. After a brief illness, he died peacefully with family at his bedside.
Jerry was born September 7, 1935 in Aberdeen, SD. He was the second of four children born to Harold and Wilma (Byrd) Russell. Growing up he attended schools in South Dakota and Illinois.
He married Nancy Coffey on June 7, 1955. They were the parents of four children.
He married his second wife, Bessie Gilkison, on June 21, 1959 in Sundance, Wyoming. They raised seven children.
Jerry worked in numerous occupations in various fields through the years, including mechanic, ranch hand, dairyman, steelworker, masonry, lineman, construction and Camp Jack. He loved spending time with family and friends and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. Jerry had many hobbies and talents. He was greatly loved and will be missed by all those he left behind.
Jerry is survived by two sisters and all of his children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
Graveside services and interment will be at Boyd Cemetery, near Four Corners Wyoming, on Monday, January 12, at 10 a.m.
The family is invited to gather for a light luncheon after the services at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Newcastle.
