Jerauld Dale "Jerry" Solaas, 82, died Friday, December 7th in Northglenn, Colorado.

He was born December 18, 1929, in Bristol, SD on the family farm to Bernt "Ben" and Agnes (Bakken) Solaas, His family moved to Spearfish SD in 1953. Jerry worked for many years as a truck driver. In the late 60's and early 70's they owned the Chuck Wagon Restaurant in Spearfish.

In 1974 to 1992 he moved his family to the Ox Yoke Ranch in Nemo, SD and managed a Disabled Veterans Home. He was an active volunteer and Fire Chief of Nemo Volunteer Fire Department. In 1992, they retired and moved to Lakewood, Colorado where he became as security guard for the Red Dolly Casino in Black Hawk, CO. Jerry retired from that in 2005.

Survivors include daughter, Gail (Mike) Frazier of Northglenn, CO; son, Dale (Rhonda) Solaas of Fritch, TX; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; sister Betty Craft; two nieces and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his wife Doris in 1998; two sons, Michael and Gary, and brother James (Jim).

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Friday at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel, Spearfish. Funeral Services will be 10 AM, Saturday, December 15, at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family invites you to join them following the burial at Hudson Hall, 222 W Hudson, Spearfish.
