Our beloved, Jenniffer Beth (Treinen) Clyde, 57, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2016 in her home in Spearfish, SD surrounded by her loving family.
Jenniffer Treinen was born on June 12, 1959 in Sidney, Nebraska and was the third child born to Lois and Marion "T-Bone" Treinen. She grew up in Riverton, WY and during high school she ran into the love of her life, Scott Clyde. It didn't take long for him to sweep her off her feet and they fell in love as teenagers. Their love for each other was immense! On May 21, 1977, the weekend after she graduated High School, they were married!
Scott worked at Pepsi Cola while Jenniffer worked at a T-shirt print shop and then started her own catering company. She was very ambitious and a take-charge woman who was ready to start a family. They first welcomed a son Mike, and 16 months later their daughter, Kellie Ann. They lived in Riverton, WY until relocating to Spearfish, SD in 1982. Moving to a new town was hard, but with their love the sky was the limit. They settled in with Jenniffer working at Lifetime Eyecare and Scott managing Pepsi Cola.
At Lifetime Eyecare, Jenniffer made and adjusted glasses and was loved by her customers; often she was the only person that could make their glasses fit properly. People traveled from Montana, Wyoming, and all over South Dakota to have their glasses fitted correctly. Everywhere she went it seemed like she would see and visit with her special customers.
When Jenniffer turned 30, she and Scott received the gift of a lifetime with a new addition to the family, a little baby girl, Kori Mac, making their family complete.
Jenny's contagious laugh, joy and loveable smile meant friendships grew in abundance. She got involved in a ladies bowling league that traveled the state. She also joined the local Mothers Club. When Scott found out Jenniffer's new Mothers Club meant leaving the kids with the dads, he realized she had found a fun place to laugh with new friends and decided to get on board with supporting her newfound club! Jenny also joined a Bunko group where she could socialize and share her laughter.
Jenniffer loved her life and as grandchildren were born, helped to shape them into very good and smart young children. She loved being a grandmother and the grand kids loved her! Her grandchildren are Olivia, Devin, Alexander and Wyatt (Mike/Kris), Aaliyah (Kellie/Allen).
She is survived by her husband Scott of 39 years; son, Mike (Kris), Gillette, WY; daughters, Kellie (Allen), Colorado Springs, CO; and Kori, Meridian, Mississippi; mother, Lois Goff, Riverton, WY; sister, Tracy Treinen, Billings, MT; sister-in-law, Barb Hassert; brothers-in-law, Lee (Yuri) Clyde and Nephi Hal Clyde; several nieces and nephews; step-mother, Mary Carr; and step-siblings, Charlie, Tammy and Cheryl.
She was preceded in death by an older brother, Bryan; father, T-Bone Treinen; grandparents, RD and Benetta McClanahan; and mother and father-in-law, Lynn and Ann Clyde.
Special Thank you to Jenniffer's mother, Lois Goff who helped her for the last two years of her life in our happy home!
Memorial service will be held on Monday, September 19th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1105 Todd St, Belle Fourche, SD, at 10:00 AM. Memorials in Jenniffer's name have been established to benefit Caring Bridge.org or Pilots for Christ- Wyoming Chapter.
