On Tuesday, November 25th, 2014, we lost a shining star; a daughter, sister, aunt, and beloved friend. Jeni Barraclough, 42, Spearfish, has rejoined Our Lord God and her father, Toby, in Heaven, where they are no doubt planning their first adventure together in a long time.
Jeni was born on June 19, 1972 to Toby and Barbara (Kobza) Barraclough. It is with extremely heavy hearts that we let her take the journey to a place where we know she'll have peace. We will persevere, with countless precious memories, and tempered grief because we all know that Jeni would want us to live our lives to the fullest, because Jeni endlessly considered others before thinking of herself. Her flamboyancy knew no bounds and she never cared what people thought, making her the life of every party and the brightest light in every room.
Jeni loved her family and friends more than anything. She absolutely adored her three nephews, which she called "her kids" and had a name for each. Bennett her "First Born", Eli her "Soul Mate", and Lincoln her "Sweet Pea" will forever be blessed to have such an amazing Aunt Jeni.
We will miss her epic parties which gave us countless laughs, pictures, and cherished memories. We will always remember her looking so beautiful and wearing the most amazing stilettos. Jeni's platinum soul will forever shine down on our lives. Whenever we need a laugh, a smile, or a heartwarming thought, we will be able to take a moment, a deep breath and remember Jeni and her selfless heart. She has been called up to her heavenly home and is no doubt already decorating and planning in preparation of our arrivals. Be free sweet Princess and farewell for now. Please watch over us, provide us guidance when we need it, and give us strength as we celebrate your life.
Jeni is survived by her mother, Barb Handley, Spearfish; brothers, David (Kirsten) Barraclough, Waconia, MN and Daniel (Shayla) Barraclough, Colorado Springs, CO; sisters, Jami (Rob) Kortan, Spearfish, Joni (Evan) Williams, Colorado Springs, CO, and Heather (Skyler) Worthington, Eugene, OR; niece, Ellie Barraclough; nephews, Bennett, Eli, and Lincoln Kortan; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Toby Jess Barraclough; grandfather, Val Kobza; and grandmothers, Mae Kobza and Marion Barraclough.
