Obituary
Jelene Rand, 63, died Thursday, March 10, 2016 at her Spearfish home with her family by her side.
Jelene was born August 17, 1952 in Chamberlain, SD to Alvin and Elva Jean (Nash) Reuer.
She attended grade school at the Black Dog Country School and graduated from Chamberlain High School. In 1975, she graduated from Black Hills State University with a bachelor degree in education. She taught in Whitewood, SD for a year then was married in 1976 to Richard Rand. Later that year they purchased their first of many businesses.
Jelene is survived by her husband, Richard Rand of Spearfish, SD; her daughter, Brittnie (John) Ainsworth of Spearfish, SD; three grandchildren, Taylor, Devyn and Zane; her parents, Alvin and Jeannie Reuer of Chamberlain, SD; and her sister, Marlys (Cordie) Schlomer of Presho, SD.She was preceded in death by her sister Cathy Reuer; brother LeRoy Reuer; and her grandparents.
Private family services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Northern Hills, 1440 North Main Street, Spearfish, SD 57783.
