Jeffrey Plinski, age 56, of Spearfish, South Dakota, suffered a fatal heart attack, on Monday, June 13, 2011, while pursuing a hobby of bird-watching near Lookout Mountain in Spearfish, South Dakota.
Jeff was born to David Francis Plinski and Marie Agnes Plinski (Blaskowski), in Deadwood, SD on August 13, 1954. Jeff grew up in Lead, SD where he attended local schools until 1968 when the family moved to Lodi, California.
In Lodi, Jeff continued his education and graduated from Lodi Union High School in 1972. Over the next several years, Jeff pursued his interest in sports and travel and spent two years living and working in Waverly, New York for Leprino Foods.
In 1981 Jeff returned to Lodi where he met and married Vicki Spooner. They made their home in Lodi including Vicki's son Corey Graig. In 1984, they were blessed with another son, David, who resides in Spearfish today. In 1992, the family was befallen with the unexpected passing of Vicki who suffered a heart attack on December 13th of that year.
Jeff moved to Spearfish, in late 2007, following his early retirement from Leprino Foods, who also has a factory in Tracy, California, where Jeff continued his career as a cheese maker and whey processing operator.
Aside from his wife, Jeff is predeceased by his father David and his brother Robert Plinski.
Jeff is survived by his son, David; stepson, Corey (Becky) Graig; grandson, Timmy Graig; mother, Marie Drake; sister, Janel Roselles all of Spearfish, SD; Janel's children; Chris Roselles and his daughter Katie of Black Hawk, SD; daughter, Kimi Roselles of Stockton, CA; brother, Daniel Plinski of Visalia, CA; sister-in-law; Kathy Plinski and her daughter, Jennifer Schoonmaker, of Denver, CO; and other extended family; Carol, Thomas and Robert Drake of North Dakota.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, June 17, 2011, at Fidler - Isburg Funeral Chapel, Spearfish, SD. A vigil service will follow at 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM, June 18, 2011, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Spearfish, SD.
