Obituary

Jeane Gould, 70, of Belle Fourche and formerly of Pierre, died Friday, January 18, 2008, at Spearfish Regional Hospital.

Jeane Audrey McCarthy was born on November 10, 1937, in Artesian, SD to Jess and Alice (Stewart) McCarthy. She was the oldest of four daughters, graduating from Huron High School in 1955. In 1956, she was married to Phil Murphy in Huron. Together, they had two sons and five daughters. In 1982, she married Ed Gould in Ft. Pierre.
Jeane will always be remembered as the friendly "go-getter" that knew everyone in town. She will be forever missed by her many friends and family.

Jeane is survived by her mother, Alice McCarthy of Spearfish; sisters, Ruth (Rollie) Mayberry of Washington, Dee (Frank) Walton of Belle Fourche, and Mary (Mike) Morgan of Spearfish; sons, Phil Murphy Jr of Rapid City and Andy (Chris) Murphy of Wisconsin; daughters, Ann (Brad) Shanks of Florida, Kathy (Roy) Allen of Montana, Donna (Tom) Webb of Spearfish, Mary (Jay) Moser of Colorado, Susie Murphy of California, and Jenny (Chad) Seidel of Pierre; 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jess, her husband, Ed, and one granddaughter, Sarah.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 25th at 10:00 a.m. with lunch to follow at the Ft. Pierre Community Youth and Involved Center. Please dress casually – she wouldn't want us to "make a fuss." An additional memorial service will be on Monday, February 4th at 10:30 a.m. at the Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish. Per her wishes, she has been cremated and her ashes will be inurned at Black Hills National Cemetery, near Sturgis, SD.

Arrangements are under the care of Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel of Spearfish. Online condolences may be written at www.fidler-isburgfuneralchapels.com
