Jean R. (Breckenridge) Johnson, 84, of Spearfish, SD passed away on Wednesday, February 08, 2012.

Jean was born on a farm south of Reeder, ND on December 4, 1927 to Sidney O. Breckenridge and Bertha Nichols. Jean was married to Edwin Johnson on December 28, 1944 in Baker, MT. They lived in Bowman, ND until 1946, when they moved to Spearfish. They just celebrated their 67th anniversary.
Jean was a homemaker first and foremost. She loved her family and home and was an avid gardener. She especially loved her rose garden. Jean belonged to "Modern Mother's Club" and the local Extension Club. Edwin is a collector and restorer of antique cars and the two of them belonged to Veteran Motor Car Club. They went on many car tours during their life together. Edwin and Jean also went on many Maranatha International projects to build churches.

Jean was very musical. She played the piano and organ for church and many other functions. She taught organ and accordion lessons. She had a beautiful voice and sang for many weddings and funerals. She also sang at her local Seventh-Day Adventist Church, where she was a member and also active in camp meetings and youth congress in Minneapolis. She was a children's Sabbath School leader for many years and lead the local church school music program.

Jean is survived by her husband Edwin Johnson, daughters; Sherri (Dean) Fandrich, Debra (Tim) Herber, son; Randy Johnson, daughter-in-law; Susan (Miller) Johnson, nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and son Mac.

Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM on Friday, February 10, 2012 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the Mountain View Baptist Church in Spearfish, followed by burial at Rose Hill Cemetery in Spearfish.
