Jane McKiney, 44, passed away Thursday November 12, 2009 at her home or as she called it "her little cabin" in Keystone, SD surrounded by loved ones.

Jane was born on April 27th, 1965 to Warren and Dorothy (Staigle) Wood in Spearfish, SD. She was raised and attended school in Hulett, WY. Jane and her daughter moved to Keystone in the fall of 1999 and since then she has never wanted to leave. The Black Hills have always been a spiritual home for her. Jane was a loving vibrant woman who always had a smile. She always had something good to say and knew how to brighten everyone's day. She was always full of laughter and hugs and had a deep love for all her friends and family. She also loved nature, a good drive through the Black Hills, socializing and a good belly laugh. Jane enjoyed being a grandmother and was able to help welcome her granddaughter into the world on her 44th birthday.

Jane found her niche in the medical field. She worked in several medical facilities in the Black Hills and surrounding area most recently at the Black Hills Regional Eye Institute as a Surgical Tech for Dr. Monte Dirks. Jane enjoyed her work at the Eye Institute and looked forward to going to work everyday. She had many patients that looked forward to seeing her bright smile. When she could no longer work due to her brain tumor many cards from her patients poured in, keeping her spirits high. Jane also worked at the Rapid City Regional Hospital for several year along with being apart of the Lions Eye Bank Donor Team.

Jane is survived by her daughter Kacie (Alan) Turbiville, Rapid City, SD, granddaughter, Jayce Turbiville, mother, Dorothy Wood, Hulett, WY, brothers; Chuck (Carol) Wood, Gillette, WY, Dale (Sherry) Wood, Moorcroft, WY, Jim (Bettina) Wood, Arlington, WA and Steve (Tina) Wood, Sundance, WY, sisters; Joan (Robert) Geis, Rapid City, SD, Starla (Larry) Crouse, Sheridan, WY, Mary (Mike) Kuhl, Sundance, WY and Sally (Tyler) Jewett, Belle Fourche, SD and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her father, Warren Wood.

In the celebration of Jane's life we would like to thank the many, many friends and family that helped her get to heaven.
