IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jane
Christofferson
August 14, 1956 – July 27, 2024
Jane Ann Christofferson, 67, beloved daughter of Bob and Carol Christofferson, went to be with her heavenly Father on July 27, 2024 in Spearfish, SD. She was born August 14, 1956 in Spearfish where she grew up in a family of six in a small, noisy house filled with chaos and love. Jane graduated from Spearfish High School and attended Trinity Bible College in Ellendale, North Dakota. She briefly lived in Nebraska before moving back to Spearfish to be with family.
Jane worked at Burger King in Spearfish and was employee of the month more than once. She enjoyed working with children in the Nazarene Church daycare center and was also employed at the Dorsett Home where she lovingly took care of her grandmother Bessie. Jane was a longtime Avon representative and her clients often placed orders just to spend time with her.
Jane was an avid knitter, and many friends and family members will cherish the beautiful blankets she made and gifted them over the years. She loved to play piano, and played often at her home in Hickory House, and also in the chapel at Edgewood Vista where she moved in 2021. The staff there appreciated Jane's sense of humor, her sarcastic wit and were astonished by her encyclopedic knowledge of bible verses. Jane was an enthusiastic bingo player and especially enjoyed attending bible study.
Jane is survived by her sisters Debra Christofferson, Los Angeles, CA and Tana (Tom) Stastny, Spokane, WA; niece Elizabeth Christofferson (Kyle) Laughlin and great-nieces Grace and Emerson, Rapid City, SD; nephew Carson Christofferson, Spearfish, SD; niece Katie Christofferson (Jason) Nelson, and great-nephews Alucard and Rhys, Lebanon, MO; and sisters-in-law Kristi Christofferson of Rapid City, SD and Aleen Ford, Lead, SD.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Carol; brothers Bob and Steve; and her companion of more than 30 years, Scott Heinbaugh. May we find solace in knowing she has found eternal peace with the Lord, surrounded by loved ones.
A celebration of Jane's life will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish. Jane will then be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery.
A special thank you to Marla Loken, Erika Jordan and Melanie Weatherstone for their compassion and care for Jane.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Jane's name for advancement of scientific research for finding a cure for Alzheimer's.
