Obituary
James R. "Dick" Whittington, 88,of Spearfish and formerly of Sun Prairie, WI passed away on Monday, November 12, 2012 at his home.
Dick was born on October 18, 1924 to Fred E. and Grace L. (Hightower) Whittington in Crawfordsville, IN. He was a WWII Veteran in the US Navy and served in the Asiatic Pacific and the Aleutian Islands in Alaska. He retired from the University of Wisconsin Experimental Farms in Arlington, WI.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Yvonne, two sons, Rick and David both of Lead, SD, and a daughter-in-law, Alegria, Tallahassee, FL.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jonathan, and a daughter-in-law, Betty.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
