James "Jim" Schiller, 68, Upton, WY went to be with our Lord on March 22, 2012 and was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus and all that had gotten there before him.
Jimmy Ray Schiller was born to Harvey & Elizabeth (Goff) Schiller on May 28, 1943, and was a twin brother to Jerry Edward. The twins joined an older sister at home, Audrey Arlene, and when the babies and mom returned home, Audrey claimed Jimmy as her baby to take care of.
Jim was born in Depew, OK and the family later moved to Crook County, WY and eventually to Upton where Jim graduated from high school.
In 1965 Jim was drafted into the army and served in Korea, where he met his wife Yang Sun Noh Schiller. Jim and Yang Sun welcomed a baby boy to their family on October 16, 1967 named Scottie Ray and another baby boy on December 10, 1970, named Brent Harvey.
Jim was an exceptional athlete in junior high and high school and continued his love of sports his entire life. Football, basketball and baseball were all a major part of his life and he enjoyed watching his sons play sports during their school years. Jim was always at their games and often times was refereeing or umpiring.
Jim worked in the oilfield for Updike Brothers for over 30 years, then for Key Energy and retired from Amwest Petroleum.
Jim is survived by his wife, Yang Sun, his son Brent Schiller, son Scott Schiller (Kelli) and their sons Braden and Riley. He is also survived by siblings Audrey Schaeffer, Carolyn Critelli, Linda Wagner and Jeff Schiller. There are numerous relatives, including nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins etc.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Schiller, his mother, Elizabeth Schiller, his brothers Jerry (Jake) and Tom Schiller.
Funeral Services will be at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Upton. Burial will follow at the Upton Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to benefit the Upton Ambulance Service.
