James "Jim" Newell, 59 of Sundance WY passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday August 15, 2019.

James was born March 18, 1960 in Harvey, Ill to Donald and Romana (Rogers) Newell. He grew up in parts of Wisconsin and Illinois before moving to Colorado in his teen years. James met the love of his life Laura Lee Jewell in 1985, they were married in 1988. James moved his family to Sundance in 1991, where he worked construction and drove truck.

James was an avid music lover and loved going to concerts and jamming out with his family and friends. He loved tinkering in his shop working on cars or wood working projects. His pride and joy were his yard and trees. Over the years he became an amateur gardener and enjoyed sharing his vegetables with everyone. He loved spending time with his family going to fairs, concerts, rally, deadwood or just at home together.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Laura Newell of Sundance; three children, Majesta Byrne Colorado, Kyle Newell (Eden), Wyoming, Raysha Newell (Bjoe), South Dakota; three grandsons, Dalton Byrne, Wade Byrne, and Justin McCoy; mother, Romona Newell, Illinois and sister, RaeJeanne Newell, Illinois.  Also, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his infant son, Jeramie James; father, Donald Newell and in-laws, Charles and Shirley Jewell.James wishes were not to have any services at the time of his passing. A memorial is scheduled for Friday August, 23, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at the Turf Bar in Sundance.
