James Cobb, 74 of Belle Fourche, South Dakota passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home on June 20, 2016, from complications of a long courageous battle with cancer.
James Berkley Cobb was born July 29, 1941 in Spearfish, SD to Tyrus and Thelma (Anthony) Cobb. Jim spent his early childhood in Spearfish and in 1950, the family moved to a farm near Fruitdale, SD. He graduated from Belle Fourche High School in 1959.
On November 28, 1964, Jim married Darleen Artus. To this union two daughters, Jamie and Carrie, were born.
Jim had various jobs that included working with his father farming and then driving truck for Ty Cobb Trucking. Other jobs included working at American Colloid, Christensen Construction and Watson Sand and Gravel.
Hunting, fishing and being an avid Denver Broncos fan were some of his interests. He loved going to his daughters and grandsons activities.
He is survived by his wife, Darleen Cobb; daughter, Jamie (Robert) Neumiller, Loveland, CO and Carrie Cobb, Sturgis SD; grandsons, Burke and Caden Neumiller; honorary granddaughters, Faith and Erin Hanson; brother, Ronald (Susan) Cobb, CO; sister, Linda Cobb, CO; brother in laws, Dennis (Betty) Artus, Elkhorn, WI and Sherwin (Kaycie) Artus, Golden, CO and cat companions Sammy and Maggie.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
