James Dwight Anderson, 72, of Spearfish passed away on August 13, 2017, at the David M Dorsett Healthcare Center in Spearfish from complications of diabetes.
Jim was born May 10, 1945 in Redfield, SD, the second child of Carroll and Floreine Anderson.
He graduated from Spearfish High School in 1963 and soon after joined the National Guard.
Jim was involved in the flooring business his entire life. Jim lived in several states before returning to Spearfish several years ago to continue his trade. He would walk into many commercial buildings in Spearfish and surrounding areas and proudly say, "Nice job, huh?"
Jim is survived by three sons, Brad (Judith), and their children, Hugh, Chloe, Harry, William and Henry; Barry (Ashley) and their children, Avery and Seth; and Jerrod and his daughter, Morgan;
He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Lynn Edwards and Susanne Keil; and brothers, George, Dan, Bruce, Darryl and Ken. In addition, he will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fidler-Isburg Chapel. A private family burial will take place in Rose Hill Cemetery.
