Jaimie
Nelson-Hawkins
March 7, 1986 – June 12, 2026
On June 12, 2026, Jaimie passed away peacefully at Monument Health Rapid City Hospital while surrounded by her family.
Born on March 7, 1986, in Omaha, Nebraska, Jaimie will be remembered for her kind heart and deep love for animals. She brought joy to those around her and touched many lives through her caring nature.
In the midst of our sorrow, Jaimie made one final gift. Through organ donation, she will help save and improve the lives of others. While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that her generosity and spirit will live on through those she helps.
Jaimie leaves behind her two beloved sons, Matthew (20) of Omaha in Nebraska and Noah. Noah, a spirited seven-year-old, brought her endless pride and joy.
Those grateful to have shared in her life include her father, Fred Nelson (Micheline) of Spearfish; her siblings and step-siblings, Amanda Derrek, Jennifer Kaiser, Tarah Myran (Justin), Hope Borseth (Tom), Shannon Whaley (Jim), Stevie King (Bill), and Phillip Hawkins (Breianna); her uncle, John Nelson (Donna); her aunts, Ida West and Wanda Nelson (Larry); as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish her memory and hold her close in their hearts.
Holding a special place in Jaimie's heart is her uncle Lyndon Hawkins, who generously gave his time to help care for her son Noah. She also treasured the time she spent with her niece and nephew, Elise and Blake Derrek, creating memories that will be cherished by all who shared them.
Jaimie is reunited in peace with her mother, Leslie, and her grandparents, who welcomed her with open arms.
A private family service and celebration of life will be held in July. A memorial has been established in Jaimie's honor. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Jaimie's memory by showing kindness to others and to animals, reflecting the compassion she shared throughout her life.
"Those we love don't go away. They walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed, and very dear.”
Cards may be sent to Fred & Micheline Nelson, 19650 Mossing Lane, Spearfish, SD 57783.
Arrangements are under the care of Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapels and Isburg Crematory of Spearfish. Online condolences may be written at www.fidler-isburgfuneralchapels.com
