Born on May, 1935 in Dearborn, Michigan, he grew up in a rural area near Detroit with his sister. Jack joined the Marines in 1951, where he was educated as an electronics technician. After the Marines, he returned to Michigan for 2 years to work for the Ford Motor Company in engineering. In 1956 he made the move to southern California near Lancaster, and worked for Convair, a manufacturer of military aircraft. It was here that he met Eleanor Shefchik, and they were married on March 7, 1959. In 1963, they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where they raised their four children. Jack worked for EG&G, an electronics contractor at the Nevada Test Site while living in Las Vegas. In 1972 the family moved to Loyal, Wisconsin in 1972, the place of Eleanor's birth. While there, Jack worked for Weyerhauser as an electrician. In 1975, the family moved to Moorcroft, Wyoming where Jack resided until his passing. While in Moorcroft, Jack worked as as a journeyman electrician, and took an early retirement from the Amax Belle Ayr mine. After Amax, he worked at other coal mines, aggregate producers, maintenance support companies, Yellowstone Park, and as a private contractor.
Jack was truly fascinated by God's creation and always endeavored to learn more about it. His interests were photography, hunting, shooting, electronics and electrical experimentation, Ham radio, geology, history, philosophy, camping, traveling, and many others. He was a true patriot who believed that all men and women should be able to live their own lives without the "help" of others.
Blessed with a strong will and great passion for life, Jack stayed active until his passing. Not caught up in material things, he was quick to give to others. Jack was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend and will be dearly missed. He and Eleanor raised their children to know and love Jesus, and taught them that the priorities in life are: God, family, and country.
