Jack Antone Svalina, 76 of Moorcroft, Wyoming passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 at the Crook County Memorial Hospital after an extended fight with COPD.

Jack was born to Pete and Margaret (Noonan) Svalina on February 7, 1938. He was the youngest of five children and was raised in Oshoto, WY. During his younger school years he attended a one room school house not far from his home. At one point his sister, Ellen was the teacher. Later the family moved to Rozet, Wyoming, where he attended school. He graduated in 1956 as the last graduating class from the Rozet High School.

Jack was drafted into the Army in 1961. After basic training he spent his time in Germany in the Infantry. While in the service he received the Marksman and Good Conduct Medal. He returned home in 1963 to become a rancher. He then married Nancy Miller in 1968. To this marriage they had two sons, Randy and Jim. In 1986 the marriage was dissolved. In 1993 Jack married Dianna Louise (Mayfield) Thompson. To this family Dianna brought two daughters, Danielle Lynette Thompson and Jennifer Dianna Thompson. Jack and Dianna then had a son, Clayton Ashton in 1995. They had a wonderful life. Jack instilled a love of ranching and animals into his young children.

Jack is survived by his wife, Dianna; his three sons, Randy (Stacy), Jim and Clayton; his two step-daughters, Danielle (Billy) McDaniel and Jennifer (Toby) Sims; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Pete, mother, Margaret, sisters, Ellen and Mary and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, June 20, 2014 at the Moorcroft Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Treasured Memories Hospice and Palliative Care.
