Ivy M. Warren, 101, Lead, SD passed away Wednesday morning,
January 5, 2011, at the Belle Fourche Senior Care Center. She was born
in Dorking England January 26. 1909. The family came to Lead in 1911
where her father worked for the Homestake Gold Mine as a Blacksmith.
Ivy attended school in Lead and graduated from Lead High School
in 1928. She then worked in several retail shops in Lead.
She married Earl Warren in 1933 and he died May 26, 1965.
Their son Earl Marshall died of Polio at age 11 in 1946. Also preceding
her in death was her father John Adamson, mother Lucy Heard Adamson,
one sister Vera Rantapaa, and brother Frank Adamson, .U.S. Navy Admiral.
She is survived by her daughter, Rev. Donna Warren of Liberty, MO.
Also, Nieces Elizabeth Rockwell, Daphney McCarty, Louise Duefee, and
Nephew Frank M. Adamson, Jr.
Ivy was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Lead. She was in
the Eastern Star, Women's Club and many neighborhood groups.
A memorial service will be held Monday, Jan.10, 2010 at 10:00 am at Christ Episcopal
Church, 625 W. Main St. Lead, SD. In lieu of flowers Donna requests memorials to Christ Episcopal Church.
