Irene (Wiessner) Tripp, 87, died July 26, 2016 at David M. Dorsett Healthcare Center, Spearfish, SD surrounded by her loving family, friends and caretakers.
Irene was born August 3, 1928 in Arpan, SD to Carl Wiessner, Sr. and Sophia (Andersen) Wiessner. She attended school at the little red country school at Arpan until December 1935, when the family moved to Belle Fourche, SD. She graudated from Belle Fourche High School in 1946.
Her goal was to go to California and seek her fortune and that she did! She worked at several different jobs until she was introduced to electronics. She worked at Gillfillins a number of years and at Magnavox in Los Angeles, CA. She became a senior designer in the company.
Irene walked slow, talked slow and worked slow, but did everything to perfection. She worked hard and did outstanding work. Irene loved flowers and gardening. She had a beautiful yard. Irene also did beautiful china painting and stained glass. She had a lot of talent in those hands and was very creative.
Irene married Edwin Tripp, III, February 22, 1975, in Las Vegas, NV. They lived in Los Angeles many years and retired in Concord, CA. They moved to South Dakota in 2006.
She is survived by her sister, Clara Christensen; nieces Alice (Jerry) Spargur, Donna Halstead, Paula Halstead all of Spearfish, SD; twelve more nieces, three nephews, numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews and special friend, DeLores Comack. Irene was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brothers, Edward Wiessner, Carl (Thelma) Wiessner, Jim (Anita) Weissner, George (Hilda) Wiessner, Paul (Mina) Wiessner; sister, Theresa (Bob) Weagant and brother-in-law, Bryce Christensen.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M., Monday, August 1, 2016 at Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish with Pastor Scott McKirdy officiating. Inurnment will be at Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche, SD. A memorial has been established to Hospice of the Northern Hills.
