Ida Helen (Sluka) Bely, 97 of Spearfish and formerly of Kimball, SD passed away June 3, 2008 at Spearfish Regional Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M.CST, Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at the Kimball United Methodist Church in Kimball, SD, burial will follow at the Kimball Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to benefit the United Methodist Women Society, P.O. Box 340 Kimball, SD 57355.

Ida was born September 27, 1910 to Frank and Josephine (Toupal) Sluka on the family farm north of Kimball. She attended rural school in Plummer Township. Ida married Bernard Bely on September 23, 1936. The couple made their home on a farm north of Kimball for forty-four years until Bernard's passing. Ida then moved to Kimball in May of 2000. In January of 2001 she moved to Spearfish and made her home with her daughter and son-in-law until her passing. Ida enjoyed traveling to Oregon and Iowa to see her grandsons and their families. She enjoyed embroidering and cooking when she was able to do so.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Maxine and Bob Hanson of Spearfish, two grandsons, Cory (Brenda) Hanson of Winterset, Iowa and Glen (Bethany) Hanson of Forest Grove, Oregon, four great-grandchildren; Faith and Noah Hanson of Iowa and Bryanna and Ashlie Hanson of Oregon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bernard, grandson, Scott Hanson and two brothers, Floyd and Earl Sluka.
