Howard G. Elvers, Sr, 83, Sundance, WY passed away peacefully at his home on January 26, 2016.

Howard was born August 6, 1932 in Springville, NY to Anthony and Florence (Elvers) Ball. After a tragic incident, Howard was adopted by his maternal grandparents, Carl and Dora (Frost) Elvers. He grew up and attended school in Springville. As a very young adult he went to work doing odd jobs in restaurants in Buffalo, NY. Howard reached the appropriate age and was hired by Westinghouse where he worked for over 30 years. While living in Buffalo, he met and married Eleanor Russell. Together they raised three children, Howard "Howie" Jr, Donna and Guy. Eleanor passed away in 2008. Howard and Guy then moved to Sundance in 2010, due to Howard's failing health, and to be closer to Howie's family. Howard was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church and attended church at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, after moving here.

Howard is survived by his three children, Howard (Aleta) Elvers, Jr. Sundance, Donna (Robert) Heininger, Batavia, NY, Guy Elvers, Sundance; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brother, Bob Elvers, Batavia, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and wife

Memorial Services for Howard will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Sundance. Inurnment will be at a later date in Colden, NY.
