Herbert Harold Vetter, 91, Spearfish, SD was born on August 6th, 1923, on a farm near Onida, SD. He went home to be with the Lord on September 19th, 2014, in Spearfish.

He grew up on the farm and graduated from Agar High School in 1942. Herb married Arlene Louise Roddewig on September 25th, 1947. They spent nearly 67 happy years together and were blessed with five children. Herb was an ordained minister and served as a pastor for half a century. He served churches in Isabel, SD, Missoula MT, Everett, WA, Lorraine, KS and Plevna MT. After he retired from full-time ministry, Herb served as an interim pastor in at least eight churches in Canada and the United States. During his retirement years Herb lived in Spearfish and was an active member of the Mountain View Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene, Spearfish; daughters, Marilyn (Bob) Walther and Linda Vetter, both of Spearfish; sons, David (Renee), Haysville, KS, Steve (Carol) Douglas, WY, and Tim, Dallas, TX; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and brother, Myron (LaVon) Vetter, Onida. Herb was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lida Vetter, and siblings, Benjamin, David and Helen.

Visitation will be from 6:30-8:00 P.M. Monday, September 22, at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 23, at Mountain View Baptist Church in Spearfish.
