Henry John Beld died Tuesday, August 04, 2009 in Bryant, SD. He was born May 23, 1917 near Bozeman Montana to Wietze and Lucy (Wiedenaar) Beld. Henry served in World War II and was honorably discharged. He married Helen Alice Pauline Lindberg on March 4, 1947. They raised their family at Lodgepole SD where "Hank" spent many years driving truck and farming. They moved to Newell SD after Hank retired. He later moved to Bryant SD.

Those grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Helen (deceased); Six sons, Kenneth (deceased) and Beth Hulm, Bison SD; Daryl and Renae, Donald and Wanda, James and Janice, Loren and Lucy and Dale and Jolene, all of the Lake Norden, SD area. Four daughters, Lucy and Verne Milliren, Hettinger ND; Betty and Kenneth Pedersen, Sioux Falls SD; Brenda and Thomas Witt, Marion SD; Nancy and Dave Miller, Hazen ND; 65 grandchildren, 83 great-grandchildren; one sister, Bertha Kyser, Battle Ground WA; one brother, John Harm "Harmy" Beld, Sheridan, WY.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; one son, Kenneth; one grandson, Scott; two great-granddaughters, Arika and Arynn; one sister, Jane; two brothers, John Wietze and Elke; two step-sisters, Ann and Mary and one step-brother, Garret.

Funeral services will take place at 1:00p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2009, at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Spearfish, with visitation at the church for one hour prior to the funeral and burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Spearfish.
