IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Helen M.
Patterson
March 18, 1948 – September 17, 2021
Helen Patterson, 73 of Spearfish, passed away on September 17, 2021.
Helen Patterson (Molk) was born on March 18,1948 in Belle Fourche, South Dakota to Frank Molk and Mae Free. She grew up on a farm Northwest of Newell, South Dakota with her six siblings: Jeanette, Frank Jr, Judy, Jack, John, and Betty. She attended Newell High School and graduated in 1966. She moved to Sturgis shortly after, where she met and later married Don Patterson in 1967 in her childhood home. They then made the move to Belle Fourche before starting a family. Just one year later, she had the joy of being a first time mother to her son Mike. In 1970 she welcomed her second son, Terry, into the family. As her life grew so did her family. She then met Vale Sena and in 1981 she welcomed her daughter, Lydia into the family. She loved her growing family more than anything. She ventured to Oregon for a short time but ultimately ended up back in South Dakota. She began her career doing what she loved at Belle Fourche Nursing Home. She received many recognitions with her most joyous achievement being 2009 nursing home week flower bouquet winner. She later retired and really cherished the small things in life. She loved taking her dog Kira for walks everyday and sitting on her favorite bench in the crisp morning air. She loved spending time with her family and proudly watching her three grandchildren, Jessica, Tyler, and Paige grow up. In 2019 she was blessed with her great granddaughter, Harper. She is welcomed into Heaven by her father Frank, mother Mae, sister Jeanette, brother Frank Jr. and brother Jack. Though she may have left this world, she remains in our hearts.
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with Thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any good praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned and received, and heard, and seen in me, do; and the God of peace shall be with you.
