Helen E. (Rosser) Johns, 95 of Lead, SD passed away on Friday, February 11, 2011 at Lead-Deadwood Regional Hospital.
Helen was born April 1, 1915 to Albert and Marguerite (Woods) Rosser in Denver, CO. She grew up and attended school in CO and Lead. She married Durward (Derby) Johns on October 1, 1931 in Sturgis, SD. To this union they had three daughters; Delores, Darlene and Diane who died in infancy.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lead. At one time she taught Sunday School and belonged to the WSCS for many years. She liked to play cards, read, embroidery, crochet and sew.
She is survived by her daughter Delores Butcher, of Lead, grandson Keith Butcher, son-in-law Melvin Alexander and serveral nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1977,daughters Diane in 1940 and Darlene Alexander in 2006, son-in-law Herbert in 1982, a grandaughter in 1960, three brothers and two sisters.
Burial will take place at Mt. Lawn Cemetery in Lead at a later time.
Lead-Deadwood Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
