Helena Hart, 95 of Spearfish, died February 20, 2014 at Burr's Tender Care Assisted Living Facility in Spearfish.

Helena was born on September 29, 1918 in Forbes, ND to Julius and Pauline (Wolff) Heinrich. She married Joseph K. Hart in 1938 and they made their home in Lead. She retired from Homestake Mining Company after 15 years of service in the custodial department.

"Grandma Hart" as known to many, loved making quilts which she gave to her grandchildren and all of her friends. She loved to sew, cook and making big family meals on holidays. She dearly loved her grandchildren and they loved her. After retiring she worked at the House of Little Ones Daycare and was called Grandma by all of the children, and she is still loved by many of them today.

She is survived by four children, Sylvia (William) Clauser, Johnson Siding, Aileen (Edgar) Burr, Spearfish, Leroy (Kathy) Hart, Boulder Canyon, and Wade (Nancy) Hart, Hot Springs; Daughters-in-law, Louise Hart, Spearfish and Helen Hart, Spearfish; 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, three sons, two daughters, a grandson, a granddaughter, a grandson's wife, parents, five brothers and two sisters.

Private family graveside services will take place at Black Hills National Cemetery at a later date.
