Harry W. Pearson, Sr, 64, Lead, SD died Monday, March 18, 2013 at his home.
Harry was born on March 9, 1949, to James and Margene (Land) Pearson in Dayton , WA. His mother moved a short time after his birth to Phillip, SD where they lived until he was eleven. The family then moved to Pierre, before moving to various areas of the Northern Black Hills. After leaving school he began working at Homestake Mining Company. He married Janet Long on October 31, 1970 in Lead. He worked for over 30 years for Homestake working various places such as Homestake Lumber Yard, the slime plant and as an underground miner. After the mine closed, he did various jobs before purchasing a truck and pursuing his dream as an over the road truck driver. He continued his dream until his death at his home in Lead.
Survivors include his wife, Janet of Lead; children, John Pearson, Lead, Kalynn Pearson, Sioux Falls, SD and Harry "Skip" (Jesse) Pearson Jr., St. Paul, MN; four grandchildren; brother, Jay "Sandy" Pearson, Spearfish; sister Vivian Krus, Huntington Beach, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, March 25, 2013 at the Lead-Deadwood Memorial Chapel in Lead with Pastor Mark Phillips officiating.
