The pearly gates of Heaven opened and allowed the angels to come for Gwendolyn (Davey) Matti 96, on Monday, January 10, 2011 at Golden Ridge in Lead, SD.
Gwen was born on October 26th 1914 to Fredrick and Mary Kate (Martin) Davey and lived her whole life in Lead. She worked at Black Hills Laundry. Gwen married Oscar Matti on October 24, 1934, they had two children, Harold (Darlene) Matti and Barbara (Allen) Keifert, six grandchildren; Tim (Lois) Matti, Brad Matti, Greg (Tami) Matti, Kim (Tim) Shama, Wanda Wilson (Mike Pennel) and Douglas (Lisa) Keifert. 12 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren and numerous loving nieces and nephews including, Doreen (Maurice) Plechot and Delores (Maurice) Beckman.
Gwen is preceded in death by her loving husband, Oscar Matti, her parents, infant brother Andrew, brother, Horace and sister in law, Selma Davey and son in law, Allen Keifert.
Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M., Friday, January 14, 2011 at the Lead-Deadwood Memorial Chapel with a prayer service to follow at 7:00 P.M. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Lead. She will be laid to rest at Mountain Lawn Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
She passed away with loved ones at her side along with many thoughts and prayers.
