Guyson Charles Norton, 75, of St. Onge, died suddenly at his home of a massive heart attack on Tuesday, July 15, 2014.
Guy was born on October 16, 1938 in Niagara Falls, New York to Clarence and Estella Norton. He attended high school in Emporium, Pennsylvania and later enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving in the Submarine Corp on the U.S.S. Argonaut from 1957-59. While in the Navy, he met and married Donna K. Blare in Winchester, Michigan on November 7, 1959.
Guy was a miner, logger, and a construction contractor in the area in the 1970's, always striving to give his employers and customers their money's worth. He was a hard worker, and was employed by Black Hills State University at the time of his death.
Guy is survived by his wife Donna, two sons Richard (Rose) St. Onge and William (Amy) Deadwood, and his daughter Ginger (David) Dupree Fort Worth, Texas. He was also blessed with twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Guy will be laid to rest at the Black Hills National Cemetery at 9:30am on Friday, July 18, 2014. His family would like to extend an invitation to all that knew Guy to join us at 11:00 A.M. on at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish for a celebration of his life.
