Obituary

Greg Woinarowicz, 58 passed away peacefully at his home in Pine Haven, WY on Sunday April, 6th 2014.

Greg was born on October 7, 1955 in Grafton, ND, to Joseph and Dolores (Lindemoen) Woinarowicz the oldest of six children. Greg spent his younger years living and working on the family farm in Stephen, MN. Greg moved to Drayton, ND where he began working for EW Wylie. Shortly after, he married Diane (Mercil) Derosier and together, they had three children. Greg then worked for Trans Systems hauling beets.

Greg loved driving semis but always had a desire to operate some of the biggest trucks in the world. He decided to move his family to Elko, NV in 1988 where he started his employment with Anglo Gold Mining Company. At that time Greg "had more miles in reverse then most people had in drive!" He continued to work in Nevada until 2003.

When Greg found out he was going to be a grandfather he chose to continue his career in Wyoming where he started his employment crushing rock for Basic Energy. Greg met the woman he would spend the rest of his life with Shonna Hemphill, in Moorcroft, WY. Greg continued his love for driving haul trucks at Black Thunder Coal Mine.

Greg enjoyed spending his time at the lake camping and trying to catch "Walter the walleye" with his children and grandchildren, watching NASCAR, mowing his yard and hanging out by the campfire telling stories. Greg will always be remembered for his huge heart and love for his family and friends. Some will remember him as Pollock or G.W. but, we will always remember him as Dad.

Greg was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Woinarowicz and both of his grandparents.
He is survived by his mother, Dolores DeSautel; his children, Ross (Laura) Woinarowicz, Stefanie Woinarowicz and Ryan (Maegen Russell) Woinarowicz; siblings, Grace (Brian) Hornbaker, Paul (Dawna) Woinarowicz, Joan Fortier, Scott (Denise) Woinarowicz, and Joe (Donna) Woinarowicz ; and three grandchildren, Jacob, Bailey and Brody.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 Saturday on April 12 in Pine Haven, WY at Pine Haven Area Cemetery. The family would also like to invite Greg's friends to join them following the service at "R" Place Bar and Grill in Pine Haven.
