IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Grant L.
Werlinger
September 19, 1967 – February 28, 2023
Grant Lewis Werlinger left this world on February 28 th , 2023, to go home for eternity to the house of the Lord.
Grant was born on September 19, 1967 to Pius and Marlene Werlinger in Rapid City, South Dakota. He was the youngest of six children: Arlette, Janice, Brenda, Greg and Gary. He graduated high school from Rapid City High School and he always said "Once a Cobbler always a Cobbler!" His nickname was Moose for obvious reasons (his size).
He moved to Oregon when he was 18 years old and later met his first wife and good friend, Kelly Wamberg and they were married in 1988. Together they had a son Anthony Lewis Werlinger in 1991. They also raised their niece, Marlena Crosswhite another blessing in his life. After 23 years in Oregon, he decided to go back home to the Black Hills of South Dakota which he loved so much. There he met his best friend and love of his life Megan Dorsett and later married her on July 11 th 2014 and received three amazing bonus children.
Grant never met a stranger or someone he didn't like. He enjoyed baseball, softball, and football. He coached his son in all sports and even Boy Scouts. He was actively teaching t-ball to his grandchildren and many other things. They were very spoiled by him and knew they had grandpa wrapped around their little fingers. He was a fourth-degree night with the Knights of Columbus of Grants Pass Saint Ann's Catholic Church through the 1990's.
Grants legacy lives on through his family that he has left behind. His wife Megan Werlinger; son Anthony Werlinger; bonus children Brittnee (Jerry) Longbrake, Brendin Updike, Hanna (Delvin) Gripne; Marlena Crosswhite; grandchildren Brooklyn, Logan and Landyn; brothers Greg (Tina) Werlinger, Gary (Cindi) Werlinger and sisters Arlette Hall and Janice (Mike) Grabarek. He is preceded in death by his sister Brenda; and his mother and father Pius and Marlene Werlinger; mother and father-in-law Frank and Karen Dorsett, and cousin Chad.
