Grace L. Schmidt, 92, of Spearfish, South Dakota, went to her heavenly home Saturday, August 30, 2014, at the Belle Fourche Health Care Center, Belle Fourche, SD.
Grace was born in Bucoda, Washington to Charles and Lillian (Sutherland) Pennypacker. She was married to Richard Dale Schmidt and to this union two sons and a daughter were born.
From Washington State, Grace and Richard moved to a ranch in the White River, SD area. Grace, being a city girl, adapted to farm/ranch life and excelled at cooking and cleaning, working in the field, helping with the livestock, and even substitute teaching at the local school. Grace was bright, witty, kind, wise, helpful and well loved. She loved to sing and often traveled with the family band and lit up the stage with her beautiful voice. She found comfort and joy in Countryside Church and loved her Jesus.
