Gordon Kent Wince, 85, of Belle Fourche and formerly of Dupree, passed away on December 13, 2017 at Spearfish Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Gordon was born in Ziebach County on April 25, 1932 to Ross and Esther (Fuller) Wince. He attended Whittier Rural School and graduated from Dupree High School in 1952. Gordon was drafted during the Korean Conflict and served two years with the US Army in Okinawa, Japan. Following military service, Gordon moved back home and took ownership of the Wince family farm and ranch. On August 14, 1965 he was united in marriage to Carole Bartelt of Elkton, SD. To this union, six children were born. In 2007, Gordon and Carole moved to Belle Fourche where they have since resided.

Gordon was honored to be a lifetime member of the American Legion and VFW. He served on numerous boards including the Ziebach County Extension Board, Ziebach County Board of Education, and Dupree School Board. For the past thirty years, he served as an active board member for the 1st Financial Bank USA.

Gordon enjoyed searching, finding and restoring antique tractors, especially John Deere models. He was a devoted Christian and raised his family with this strong belief. Within the Dupree community, Gordon gave countless hours volunteering and being of service to neighbors. Over the last several years, Gordon found great value in the friendships developed over coffee at the Belle Fourche Area Community Center.

Gordon is survived by his wife, Carole of 52 years; children: Scott (Kim), Kent (Laurie), Ann (Don) Lyon, Lisa (Dustin) Schramm and Jill; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren on the way; brother, Donald (Charleen) and many cherished niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by infant daughter, Kaye; parents; siblings, Sherman (Goldie) and Nyla (Charles) Schad.

Vigil services will be at 6:00 PM on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Belle Fourche with visitation one hour prior. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 18 at the church. Burial with full military honors will take place at 1:30 PM at Black Hills National Cemetery. Gordon's family requests that memorials be made in his honor to a charity of your choice.
