Obituary

Gladys "Louise" (Jeffery) Stumpf, 91, of Nisland, SD went to heaven on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at the Medical Center of the Rockies surrounded by her beloved family.

Louise was born on March 18, 1922 to George and Annie (Saunders) Jeffery in Spearfish, SD. She graduated from Spearfish High School in 1941 and married Walter Stumpf on November 24, 1942. Walter and Louise made their home and raised their family on the Arpan farm for many blessed years.

Louise loved her family and was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and would have been proud of her three great great-granddaughters born this year. She also won awards in her involvement with TOPS, several blue ribbons at the county fair; she loved sewing, needlework and was a member of St. James Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Walterly (Stan) Jackson of El Paso, TX and Janet Boettger of Loveland, Co; son, Larry (Gerry) Stumpf of Nisland; nine grandchildren, Jody (Peter) Belanger of Acushnet, MA, Michael (Crystal) Hardesty of Sherwood, OR, Brad (Stutee) Hardesty of Dallas, TX, Scott Hardesty of Spearfish, SD, Aaron (Rita) Hardesty of El Paso, TX, Edward (Michelle) Stumpf of Spearfish, SD, Steven (Rachel) Stumpf of Gillette, WY, Jason Boettger of Fort Collins, CO and Jeremy (Kelly) Boettger of Loveland, CO; fourteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Walter, her parents, four brothers and one sister and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4-6 P.M. on Monday, September 30, 2013 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at St. James Lutheran Church in Belle Fourche. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Spearfish.
A Memorial has been established to benefit Multiple Sclerosis. Condolences can be sent to 12270 Truckers Lane, Nisland, SD 57762.
