Obituary

Gladys Bunch Smith, 92, longtime Lead resident passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013 at David M. Dorsett Healthcare Center in Spearfish, SD.

Gladys was born in Reading, England on February 9, 1921 to Charles and Edith (Marshall) Jones. She lived in England until she married Lynn R. Bunch an Army paratrooper, becoming a World War II war bride. She came to the United Stated with her first born son, Terry in 1945. She lived in various places until settling in Lead in 1968. During these years, she had 11 more children; Ralph Bunch, Lead, Linda Earl, Custer, MT, Brian Bunch, Sturgis, Pete Van dervort, UT, David (Nancy) Bunch, Fromberg, MT, Janice (Kevin) Becker, Belle Fourche, Keith (Marilyn) Bunch, Vail, Michael Bunch, Lead, Robyn (Scott) Kucera. Sturgis, Rhonda (Brad) Becker, Lead, John (Gail) Bunch, Lead. After her first husband's death, she later married William RJ Smith, giving her five step-children; Clyde (Arlys) Smith, Belle Fourche, Alena (Smith) Coon and Danny Smith, both of Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, son Terry, step-sons, Richard and Terry Smith, and several grandchildren.

Memorial Services for Gladys will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at the Lead-Deadwood Memorial Chapel in Lead, with Pastor Steve Agan officiating.
