Gina Swartz, 47 of Buffalo, SD passed away on April 22, 2012 at Southwest Medical Clinic in Bowman, ND.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at the Grand River Lutheran Church in Buffalo.


Gina was born on March 24, 1965 to Marlan and Carol (White) Bisher in Ft. Morgan Co. She grew up there with her brother Wade. The family later moved to Gillette, WY where Gina attended Campbell County High School finishing her education with her GED.

Gina met Bill Jenson who was working in Gillette at that time. They married and soon were blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Lacy. Not long after they moved to Buffalo, SD. Shortly thereafter they had their second blessing a beautiful baby boy Cody. A few years passed before their third blessing, a beautiful baby girl Billie. Circumstances happened and Bill and Gina divorced, they still remained good friends.

Just a couple of years later, Gina met her knight in shining armor, Jerry Swartz, and he had found his princess and love of his life. They married on February 24, 1999. During their time together they shared in metal detecting, rock hunting, fishing and anything and everything the children were into. All of this kept her very busy. She loved all children. She worked for the Harding County School for a short period of time. Of this her favorite of all was helping with Courtney Limpert. Destination Imagination was also a highlight for her along with the traveling church group that came to Buffalo every year. If there was anything she could do to help with kids-she was happy.

As the years progressed, her health started to fade and she was unable to continue with certain activities. She stayed home more, but never stopped trying to do everything she could for her children. Gina took pride in her oldest daughter Lacy for her service in the military, for her son Cody starting and operating his own business and Billie for giving her the greatest gift in December of 2011-the birth of her grandchild Ava.

Gina is survived by her husband Jerry; children Lacy, Cody and Billie; and her granddaughter, Ava. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Wade and infant sister Terresa.
