Obituary
Gerhardt Golba, 79, Spearfish, passed away June 30.
Gerhardt was born in Germany and immigrated to the United States with his mother in 1952. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1957. His service included tours in Korea and Viet Nam as well as various assignments in Germany and stateside. He retired from the military in 1977 as a CW3 in the 8th Maintenance Co. After retiring he attended college in Nebraska and received his Masters degree. He taught Industrial Arts at the DoDDs schools in Frankfurt and Hanau Germany until retiring to Spearfish in 1999.
He is survived by his wife, Elke; stepsons William (Paige) Hubers, and Matthew (Laura) Hubers; and daughter Peggy Schroll and family.
Internment is Wednesday July 5th at 11:00 AM at Black Hills National Cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Black Hills Humane Society in Spearfish.
