Geraldine B. Bergman, 92 of Spearfish died January 26, 2015 at the David M. Dorsett Healthcare Center.
Visitation will be from 5pm-7pm, Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish.
Funeral services will be at 10am, Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Spearfish, burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to benefit Our Savior's Lutheran Church sewing group.
Geraldine was born March 3, 1922 in Roseau, MN to Jens C. and Eda (Hansen) Petersen. She was raised and attended school in Lake Benton, MN. She married Clarence E. Bergman on June 22, 1941 in Tyler, MN. To this union two daughters were born, Sharon Lee in 1942 and Mary Ann in 1947. The couple made their home on his parent's family farm, and ran the farm until 1959, at that time they moved their family to Rapid City, SD. While living in Rapid City, Geraldine worked at a variety of different places including, Rapid City Regional Hospital, Rapid City Regional Airport and Kmart. Geraldine and Clarence moved to Spearfish in 1979, where she worked with her daughter at Taco Johns and for Ambassador Card Company.
Geraldine enjoyed ceramics, macramé, porcelain dolls, sewing and quilting; making many baby quilts, table clothes and bed spreads for her daughters and their families. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Spearfish where she also shared her talents of quilting and crocheting.
Geraldine is survived by her daughters, Sharon Coughlin and Mary (Gary) Goddard, all of Spearfish; grandchildren, Lorrie Redfield of Spearfish, Michelle (Wade) Wilson of Gillette, WY, Randy Coughlin of Prescott, AZ, Colette (Eric) Ek of Battle Ground, WA, Dianna (Troy) Rommen of Spearfish, and Debra (Laryl) Horstman of Gillette; great-grandchildren, Amber and Andrew (fiancé, Maria Jones) Redfield, Sadie, Callie, Katie and Mollie Wilson, Jade (Ashlie) Foss, Kiah (Carl) Crowley, Parker Coughlin, Austen (Tara)Redinger , Alishia(Tyrel) Munger, Tyler (Betsy) Redinger, Brooke (Donnie)Waatti, Spencer Redinger and Adrian Ek , Kayla, Brianna and Peyton Rommen, Miranda and Matthew Rosencranz; great-great-grandchildren, Aryabella Locke-Redfield and Jaxtin Redfield, Rowen Crowley, Renn Redinger, Elliott and Kennedy Munger, Walker, Milo and Greysen Redinger, Louis Waatti, Aubry Rommen, David Rosencranz, Jacob and Josie Horstman.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2012, her parents, siblings; Marlow J. Petersen, Holger E. Petersen, Mabel C. Connors and Norma M. Ferguson, grandson-in-law, Wade Redinger and great-great-grandson, Adam Willuweit and Ryder Crowley.
