Geraldine Aldrich, 87 of Lead, passed away on March 25, 2016, at her home.
Jerry was born on April 26, 1928 in Faulkton, SD to Glen and Laura (Stickney) Foster. The next year her brother Bill was born and became her best friend forever. When she was six years old the family moved to Lead. After high school, she attended USD, Black Hills State College and St. John's Nursing School.
Jerry married Jim Baumann and eight children were born to this union. After 20 years of marriage they were divorced. Jerry and the children moved to Hot Springs, SD where she was employed at the VA for 25 years. Jerry married Orrin Aldrich on February 2, 1973 and a gift to her husband they added another boy to the family.
Jerry was an amazing mother, wife and friend. She truly touched everyone's heart she came in contact with. She was the true meaning of strength and inspiration. She taught us all how to truly love. Jerry will be missed.
She is survived by her husband, Orrin; children, Christopher (Michelle) Baumann, Spearfish, Jane (Otto) Hallberg, Lead, Lora (Jon) Carter, Nemo, SD Michael Baumann, Colorado Springs, CO and Brian Aldrich, Lead; grandchildren Jim Baumann, Amy Weiers, Laura (David) Linder, Tim (Meghann) Hallberg, Tyler Weiers, Sarah Baumann, Phillip Hallberg, Amaya Aldrich, Rylan Burnham and Elizabeth Baumann; great-grandchildren, Nathan Uhall, Cecily Weiers, Shevi Weiers, Jim Baumann, Triston Linder, Braden Weiers and Everly Linder. Jerry was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Bill; four sons, James Baumann, Charles Baumann, Timothy Baumann and Bill Baumann and grandson Peter Weiers.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lead. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Lawn Cemetery in Lead. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Trinity United Methodist Church.
Arrangements are under the care of the Lead-Deadwood Memorial Chapel in Lead.
