Georgia Lee "George" Wood of Belle Fourche passed on November 6, 2022, starting her journey to heaven.  She left her home, with family by her side, after a brief illness.

Georgia was born, an only child, on July 15 ^th , 1942, to Chester "Chet" Seaman and Ora "Dolly" Grimes Seaman in Lake City, IA.  She grew up on a nearby farm and then moved to "town" in Lanesboro, IA.

She married her love, Jerry Wood, on August 10, 1958, at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, IA.  They made their home, in Iowa, then Nebraska, and finally in South Dakota. She worked at several jobs, but the majority was spent in the office at the family business.

Georgia roller skated in competition when she was young and later enjoyed bowling,  playing cards, camping, fishing, snowmobiling and Deadwood slots.  Her family was the center of her world, always making sure everyone was "tucked in" for the night.

Georgia is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jerry; daughters, Jill (Dave) Dell and Jodi  (Alan Huether) Wood; her "babies", grandchildren, Blake (Lacey Hull) Dell, Jerri (Josh Quinn) Dell, and Steven Aldrich;  great-granddaughter, Ruby Nepper; brother-in-law, Terry Cargin; and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Don and Alice Wood; sisters-in-law, Peggy Cacek and Joan Cargin; brothers-in-law, William "Butch" Cacek and Dale Nelson and a nephew.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, November 11, 2022, at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish.   Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.  A gathering will follow at the Holiday Inn in the Cedar Room following the burial.
