George "Bud" Warren Strong Jr., 62, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at his home near Oshoto, WY.
Visitation will be from 4-6 P.M., Sunday, December 21, 2008 at Fidler-Roberts & Isburg Funeral Chapel in Sundance, WY.
Funeral services will be at 2:00PM on Monday, December 22, 2008 at Oshoto Community Bible Church, with Pastor Jered Berg officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery near Oshoto.
A memorial has been established to benefit the George Strong Benefit Fund.
George was born June 26, 1946 in Newcastle, Wyoming to George Sr. and Alice (Ames) Strong. George attended school in Upton, WY graduating in 1965. December 28, 1968, George married Carol Zimmerschied. The couple has spent the majority of their married life living near Oshoto, Wy, where George lived out his boy hood dream of ranching.
George and Carol have two children, George Strong III and his wife Carla of Gillette, Wy and Shondah (Strong) Otwell and her husband Randall of Meeker, CO, seven grandchildren; Ashley, Alana, Audra, George and Gerren Strong and Krystal and Colter Otwell.
George loved the Lord and it showed in every aspect of his life. He was a member and took an active part of Oshoto Community Bible Church. His family and friends were of utmost importance. He loved his ranch work and for 38 years he looked forward to and dearly enjoyed his annual hunting trip to the Teton Mountains. He willing took every opportunity to help with any project for friends and neighbors. He was skillful in creating solutions to any problems that arose.
George was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
George is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, his mother, Alice Strong siblings: Joyce Haptonstall, Jerry Strong, Dave Strong, Dean Strong, Cecil Strong, Steve Strong, John Strong all of Upton, WY, and Kathy Tarter of Boise, ID.
George was preceded in death by his father and one sister Wilma.
