George Henry Kosola, 65, of Spearfish, SD, passed away at his home on August 31, 2016
He was born October 20, 1950 in Belle Fourche, SD to Dorothy (Dobyns) and Harold Kosola. He lived with his family on a ranch east of Newell until he moved to Sturgis when he was in the sixth grade. George then graduated from Sturgis High School in 1968. He graduated with a business degree from BHSU in 1973. He started his first job in the car business at Eddie's Chevrolet in Deadwood in 1976, later moving on to Hersruds of Sturgis for more than 20 years. He moved to Spearfish in 2002 and worked at Queen City Motors until retirement in 2012.
Golf, playing softball, hunting, bowling, and watching the Rockies, Broncos, and NASCAR were all activities George loved. He was a proud father, brother, and grandfather that loved having family around. George was also grateful for the numerous customers he got to know over several decades.
Survivors include three brothers: Ed (Helen) Kosola of Lincoln, NE, Bernard (Ruby) Kosola of Roseburg, OR. Kenneth (Shelley) Kosola of Sandy, UT, and children: Tom (Kara) Kosola of Colorado Springs, CO, Scott (Jenna) Kosola of Windsor, CO and Kari (Nick) Redden of Martin, SD. Grandchildren: Wyatt, Chloe, Connor, and Caden. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Father, and Brother Vern.
Visitation will be 5pm-7pm on Wednesday, September 7th at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish, SD. A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Thursday, September 8th at Christian Life Center in Belle Fourche, SD.
